Company History

In 1946 Glenn Martell Senior established Glenn Martell & Son's in Concord, California. He ran a successful family business with a foundation built on expert knowledge and honest hard work. Glenn passed his work ethics down to every employee and each of his sons. After many prosperous years, it was time for Glenn's sons to fill their father's shoes. With the help of his wife Sharon, Glenn Martell Jr. took on the task of running the family business while continuing to uphold the work ethic passed down to him by his father. Soon after, Glenn Jr. moved the business to Pittsburg, California, where it resides today.

In 1984, current President and Owner Leroy Chancellor started working for Glenn Martell Jr. Leroy already had several years of experience in the well and pump industry when he joined Glenn Martell Jr.’s team. Having acquired extensive training while working for his brother Roger Chancellor at Chancellor Drilling in Klamath Falls, Oregon; Leroy's expertise quickly became a valuable asset to the Martell family business. When the last of his three daughters was born, Leroy and his wife Annette moved to the East Bay Area to be closer to family, where they fortunately learned of Glenn Martell & Son's.

At the time of Glenn Martell Jr.'s passing in 1997, Leroy became acting President and Owner of Glenn Martell & Son's. At that time, Leroy decided to change the name of the company to Martell Water Systems, Inc. Over the years, Leroy has continued to maintain the skilled and professional standard of work his long time clients have grown to expect. Leroy will happily tell anyone who is willing to listen, that he is proud to provide the public with what is a required necessity that is only second to air, water.
